[Open] Two-year Postdoctoral positions 2026 (2nd Call)

ComplexCité offers 2 two-year postdoctoral fellowships in 2026. Positions are open to holders of a doctorate in a field that is covered by ComplexCité, with the support of a postdoctoral supervisor belonging to the ComplexCité consortium (see list here). Laureates of this program must have defended their PhD thesis before the beginning of the post-doctoral contract (*). The criteria for selection are scientific excellence and quality of the scientific project; the call also aims to promote applications that fit into an inter-team project of the ComplexCité consortium. The selection will be made by a jury made up of the Scientific Committee.

(*) Assuming a position, for recent PhD graduates, requires a preparation period due to administrative constraints: to start in month N, the thesis defense must have taken place before the 15th day of month N‑2. For doctoral degree holders, an administrative delay is also necessary to set up the postdoctoral position.

Each post-doctoral fellow will sign a “Contrat de travail” and will benefit from health and welfare insurance. The salary depends on experience. For example, if the experience is less than two years since obtaining the PhD, the net monthly salary will be approx. €2500 net (€3050 gross).

Deadlines

  • Opening: 1st November 2025
  • Closure: 19th December 2025
  • Publication of the results: end of January 2026

Positions are open to holders of a doctorate in a field that is covered by ComplexCité. The criteria for selection are scientific excellence and quality of the scientific project; the call also aims to promote applications that fit into an inter-team project of the ComplexCité consortium. The selection will be made by a jury made up of the Scientific Committee.

  • Closure: 30th April 2025
  • Publication of the results: 16th May 2025
  • The 1st call is now closed.

The awardees of the call for applications for the ComplexCité 2025 postdoctoral fellowships are:

  • Zoé Varin will conduct her postdoctoral research at IRIF on the topic “Definition and study of a continuous model for forest growth,” under the supervision of Guillaume Chapuy (IRIF).
  • Saverio Palazzi will conduct his postdoctoral research at MSC on the topic “Random matrix theory to unveil complexity in epidemiological models,” under the supervision of Ada Altieri (MSC) and Simon Coste (LPSM).
